Just like us, he has daily obligations. He works like anybody else. He has two daughters to feed and to send to school. His wife already died last year.
She was 23 when she died. He married her when she was only 15. Just like any other couple, they had a few issues but generally lived happed and peacefully.
But unlike us, Ricardo Lansang is a small man living in a big world. He only stands four (4) feet. He said that when he asked his wife’s family for their blessing in their marriage, everyone were against it.
His parents-in-law even wanted to file rape charges against him because his late wife was a minor then. But their love won over all the odds.
Ricardo said he is lucky though that his children are physically normal. Unlike him, they are growing fast and strong just like their late mother. Today, he works as a peanut vendor in Angeles City. He said that despite his being a midget, he is happy for his blessings and an opportunity to be loved like any other man.
Ricardo’s story tells us that no matter how different we may look, it is our heart and soul that will be seen by others.
